Too much wine — oxymoronic.

The Wine Country Gift Baskets catalog policy — simply moronic.

The first catalog arrived on 10/25/07 — at which time I contacted WCGB and asked to be removed from their list.

The representative — Jennifer — assured me I would be removed immediately.

However, because the catalogs are pre-printed, I might receive 1 or 2 more.

Alas, Jennifer was wrong — I received 4 more. One each week.

So I called Wine Country Gift Baskets — 800.394.0394 — and spoke with Aneyda, a Customer Service Supervisor.

Aneyda informed me that while WCGB does send catalogs out year round — Valentine’s Day, Easter, Drop of the Hat Day — their big push comes in the months leading up to Christmas.

No less than 7 catalogs drop beginning the last week in October until the 2nd week in December — a clear case of catalog overload.

They would send more, but they run out of time to deliver presents before Christmas.

What, no reindeer?

As for how I got on the WCGB list to begin with, Aneyda indicated it was because someone had previously sent me a gift.
